Chemistry Projects

Cary Academy   W.G. Rushin

Project List:

Web-Based Chemistry Research Projects:
You will be creating an electronic multimedia report which can be continually modified and improved until a final deadline. Instead of doing a more traditional word-processed report that you would print out, you will be creating your report in HTML (the language of the web). The audience for a paper report would usually be limited to you and I and maybe your parents. With web publishing, your audience is world-wide. You will work on topics that are related to chemistry and create research reports that will be relevant and useful to your classmates and of interest to other teachers and students of chemistry around the world. Sound interesting? I hope so. My goals in assigning these projects are:

  1. For you to become familiar with the latest computer and information technologies.
  2. To give you the opportunity to appreciate how accessible information has become to everyone.
  3. To learn how to research the exploding amount of information available and find what you need.
  4. To organize and present your work in appealing manner.
  5. To give you the opportunity to become an author of public information.
  6. To explore the wealth of information available in chemistry.
  7. To explore a chemistry topic in detail and expand your knowledge in the subject.
  8. To gain skills useful to college and beyond.
  9. To have fun.
