Summer Technology Programs
Summers 1999-2003 Director of the Summer Technology Institute, Cary Academy, Cary, NC
- Directed the Summer Technology Institute, a grant-supported program free to public school
teachers. Developed and taught both introductory and intermediate level courses
in the use of technology.
- The program's goal was to empower participants by allowing them to use a variety of
technologies and become active web publishers. Training involved the use of the
Internet
and intranets, using web browsers and search engines, HTML coding, the use of HTML
editors, acquiring digital images with digital cameras and scanners, image editing, web
site design, and FTP publishing of web pages.
- The public school program received grants from CP&L, GlaxoSmithKline,
Nortel, and the
Wake Education Partnership.
- The program typically served about 125 public school teachers, staff, and administration from school districts
all over North Carolina.

Hobbies & Business Ventures:
- Web technologies have been an active hobby of mine since 1995. In 2002, a
former student and I incorporated a web development company (Site
Control 24/7).
- Since I was a young boy, I have always maintained boa constrictors as
pets. In 1999, I began to work with these animals on a more serious level
with the intent of developing a captive breeding program. In 2002, I
incorporated as a business (All
Boas).
